ArkanStrong - Relief for Arkansas Tornado Victims.

Prayers are all well and good, and much appreciated, but for those who know that sometimes action and physical help is needed, Arkansas needs you now.
As you may or may not know, we dodged another weather bullet when the tornadoes swept through Arkansas Sunday evening.

A few miles away from us, a good chunk of Mayflower was leveled.  Not much farther parts of Vilonia were wiped out.  Again.

We are trying to put together a comprehensive list of places that are offering help, need help, and / or are collecting donations and whatnot.

If you aren't sure what you can do but want to help, even sharing this will help spread the word and bring awareness to the needs of our community.

Most of you know we are very globally conscious and try to bring awareness whenever and wherever there is a need.  This time, it really hits home.

To all of our blogging pals-  if any of you can reach out to some of your sponsors, we'll get them as much publicity as we possibly can, we are fairly active on social media and would love to shine the light on those who make a difference.   We have so many who have lost everything, from lives to homes to pets to all of their possessions to hope and we need help.

We will be updating this post regularly as we can, but we figured better to get started and add later than not have anything at all because it isn't complete.  Please feel free to leave a comment with anything you think should be added and we'll get to it as we can.

***** There are, sadly, already scammers out there.  Please, if you want to help, donate to reputable sources.*****

***For anyone who lost digital pictures***   A big thanks to Kevin and everyone who is using their skills and talents to assist those in need.  I swiped this right from FB so you will know what he's offering.
Kevin Carmical has offered to do what he can to assist you-  click here if you or someone you know can use his services.
I've noticed that family pictures are a big theme in news about the storm damage. People finding them, people looking for them, etc. I can't even imagine losing all my pictures. I think that would be one of the hardest things about storm damage.
I realize that a lot of people have pictures that live only digitally; they never had prints made of them, but they're just as gone because their computer was damaged or destroyed in the storm.
So, with that in mind, I'm making an offer. If you or anyone you know are able to find your computer among the storm damage, I will try to recover your photos at no charge. I can't promise that it will work, but it's at least worth a try. It's fine if it won't power on, has no screen, keys are missing, whatever... I can still give it a shot. It's better than just assuming they're lost.
Please pass the word if you know anyone who might need this. It's not much, but it's the least I can do for people who have been through so much.
EDITED TO CLARIFY: This offer is for pictures only, please. I can't search for iTunes music, tax returns, etc.

St. Jude Warrior

On may 10th, I will be running Warrior Dash.
I fully expect it to kick my rear. I had my baby Jan. 31st, spent a week with him in the hospital just after I was released back to exercise (c-section), and have generally not been training like I should. Or eating right. Or sleeping well.
New baby, you know?

All of that being said, I am going to run it anyways. I will go through mud, barbed wire, mud, obstacles, mud, fire, and mud. I will be filthy, and sore, and probably love every minute of it.

I am signed up to be a St. Jude warrior- meaning I am raising money for St. Jude's, the children's cancer research institute. You know, the one where no one gets a bill, which is awesome because if you have to be there things suck enough without thinking about how you will pay for it.  My personal goal is $300, and to finish the race. Sure, it would be easy to say "no, I'm not ready, not this year, I'm not in shape, I don't have time, blah blah..."

But I said I would do it. I will raise money. I will finish the race. I will prance around in my fuzzy viking helmet!

Who knows, maybe by next year I can raise $1000 and enter the competitive leg. One thing at a time, though =P

Please consider donating to help the children and families at St. Jude, or share the link if you are not able to. I promise pictures of me covered in mud when this is all over.
