Menu for week of 10/28 - 11/3

Happy Halloween!  Loving the cooler weather we've been having, not only is it not sweltering when we go outside, but we can have the oven on without roasting ourselves.  I've heard some places are getting early snow this year-  what's the weather like where you are?  Have you changed your cooking up for the season?  Without further ado, here's our menu for the week.

Menu for week of 10/21 - 10/27

Here is our menu for the week.  Pretty basic -  Dev leaves for Americorps on Thursday so she chose Wednesday's dinner -  for some reason we hardly ever have deviled eggs unless there is a holiday, do you do that with certain foods?  What's cooking at your house?

Crockpot rotisserie style chicken; baked regular or sweet potatoes w/butter,

Menu for week of 10/14 - 10/20

It's (finally) pumpkin season.  I love the fall-  well, I love the summer too-  and spring, and winter if I don't have to shovel and it's not 40 below like it was in Alaska, but I digress.  We can cook and bake in relative comfort again.  Here's our menu for the week.  What's cooking at your house?

Burgers w/cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion & choice of condiments; oven baked sweet potato fries

Breakfast for dinner: eggs benedict (poached eggs on toasted English muffins w/hollandaise; oven roasted asparagus

Smothered round steak w/peppers, onions and potatoes; perfect rice; broccoli grape salad

Lentil soup; pumpkin muffins; apple cider

Menu for week of 10/7 - 10-13

Cooler weather means heartier fare around here.  Do you switch up your menus to change with the seasons?  We do more soups, stews, roasts and the like and try to use seasonal veggies, both for taste and to stretch the budget.   Here's what's cooking at our house this week.  What's on your menu?
