Menu for week of 11/25 - 12/1

We do a huge extended family Thanksgiving dinner early in the day and come home and make our own since hello, leftovers!  Yes, we love them.  Can't make our Taste of Thanksgiving Rings without them, right?  Or sandwiches, or that delicious broth, or...
Taste of Thanksgiving Rings
Here's our menu for the week.  What's cooking at your house?  Do you do a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, more than one like we do, or something else?  Inquiring minds want to know. 

Ham steaks w/sweet & spicy glaze; pineapple (cheese) casserole; steamed broccoli

Oven Roasted Sausage & Vegetables
Simple oven roasted smoked sausage w/ potatoes, carrots, cabbage and onions; salad w/choice of salad dressings

Minestrone soup; hot from the oven breadsticks

Traditional Thanksgiving dinner & all the trimmings w/extended family including but not limited to: oven roasted turkey w/cornbread dressing and giblet gravy; deep fried turkey, ham & venison; mashed potatoes; green bean casserole; gram's dinner rolls; deviled eggs, tons more sides (they can vary from year to year); at least 4 pies: apple blueberry; pecan and whatever gram feels like making, a myriad of other desserts at lunchtime; then in the evening we make our little feast of Alton's brined then roasted turkey, easy, perfect gravy; gramma's simple bread dressing, mashed potatoes; cranberry orange salad; deviled eggs and who knows what will inspire us.  If I have the energy I make the first batch of fudge for the season and we watch Miracle On 34th Street, original b&w version. 

Dilly turkey salad on lightly toasted croissants w/organic baby spinach (one of my very favorite ways to use the leftover turkey); leftover minestrone soup

Breakfast for dinner:  french toast w/real maple syrup; crispy bacon; seasonal fresh fruit

Chef salad w/leftover turkey, ham, cheese & lots of veggies w/choice of salad dressings; whole grain crackers

Menu for week of 11/18 - 11/24

Here is our menu for the week, in no particular order.  What's cooking at your house?
Perfect Poached Eggs
Catalina pork tenderloins; oven roasted potatoes; stir fried snow peas and mushrooms

Apricot chicken tenders; cauliflower au gratin; oven roasted broccoli

Breakfast for dinner:  poached eggs; English muffins; seasonal fresh fruit

Tex mex casserole; avocado salad

New England baked beans; brown bread; creamy cucumbers

Chicken breasts w/wild rice & mushroom stuffing;

Eat whatever doesn't eat you first aka leftovers

Menu for week of 11/11 - 11/17

Crazy busy with the holidays coming up, mostly simple comfort foods around here.  What's on your menu this week?
Pulled Pork BBQ Sliders w/Slaw on Oven Roasted Sweet Potato Slices
Goulash (American chop suey); garlic bread

Chicken & rice; steamed carrots & snow peas

Bbq pork sliders on oven roasted sliced sweet potatoes; coleslaw

Green beans & new potatoes cooked w/ham; homemade chunky applesauce; butter lettuce, cucumber and carrot salad w/creamy parmesan dressing

Breakfast for dinner: Finnish oven pancake w/lightly sweetened mascerated berries & fresh whipped cream; citrus salad

Chicken alfredo w/mushrooms, broccoli & carrots; apple slices w/caramel sauce for dipping

Potato & 4 cheese pierogies w/caramelized onions; spinach and mixed baby lettuce salad w/blue cheese chunks, craisins & raspberry vinaigrette

Menu for week of 11/4 - 11/10

Everyone absolutely loves my ex mother in law's fettucine recipe, but since I don't eat Crawfish I will probably eat one of my fat burning soups-   with so many heavier meals on the menu every now and then I enjoy something a bit lighter.  Do your eating habits change much in the colder months?

Pork tenderloin w/basil pesto & cream; parslied new potatoes; green beans

Chicken tostados; refried beans w/queso; spanish rice; homemade cinnamon tortilla crisps w/fruit salsa

Spaghetti squash w/oven roasted chicken, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, zucchini and yellow squash

Swiss steak; brown rice; broccoli & red pepper stir fry

Breakfast for dinner:  Omelets made to order; marbled rye toast; citrus salad

Crawfish fettuccine; hot buttered french bread; tossed salad w/choice of dressing

Eat whatever doesn't eat you first, aka leftovers
