I've decided to do NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) again this month, since it worked so well last time I did it. Basically, you commit to writing a post a day. I can do this- or we can.
The theme for June is NOW. If you want to join in you can click the link or the badge on my sidebar.
There will be a writing prompt each day, which you may or may not follow. Today I decided to play along because I think I am kind of odd in my response to this one.
Today's prompt is What did you want to be when you grew up?
My answer- I seriously had no burning ambition- didn't want to be a superhero or a nurse or teacher or a fireman or even a mom. I kind of have always been a go with the flow, don't really care much about tomorrow til tomorrow gets here gal.
When I was older- early teens or so- there was a show on (REALLY LAME- promise- it doesn't get much lamer) The Love Boat and I thought it would be kind of cool to be the cruise director but not cuz I wanted to plan the activities or anything, I just wanted to go and experience. That is still with me, the itchy feet and desire to travel.
Now, I took to motherhood like a duck to water, but I wasn't around kids, never played with dolls, didn't want to babysit or any of that, like most things, babies/kids were just there.
I still have no burning ambitions- I like the now, for the most part. I would change very little about my life- more travel, more $, less health problems.
I love the freedom of being a stay at home mom. I love being with my family, they are my great loves. I would be closer to my mom and sister and brother if I could, but, I still have those itchy feet so I would have a couple of home bases - one here by Ken's family, and one by my mama at Hampton Beach in New Hampshire and one in Florida (and yes, I'd be rich so I could rebuild as needed) but the wanderlust she has a strong hold and I would literally globetrot with whoever wanted to go with me where I was going at the time.
I love blogging, the freedom to jump around randomly wherever the winds take me. And bless you, some of you stick with me through it all- kudos to you, you are much appreciated. I really, really hope you will love what we have planned for the Summer Bash- we've got some great sponsors, some great features and some fun planned. And now I'll add NaBloPoMo just to mix things up.
Life is good and getting better all the time.
So, how about you? What did you want to be when you were little? Are you living the dream now? Are you doing NaBloPoMo? Or, just say hi if you want so I can stop by and say hi back.
Make it a great one!
