Betty Crocker Mississippi Mud Bars Review and Giveaway

For those of you who don't know, we here at the loonyverse all tend to love our chocolate. Some more then others (Geekazoid eats anything sweet; Mini Diva is VERY picky but what she likes, she loves) but we all have a very impressive sweet tooth.

We were given the chance to review Mississippi Mud Bars from Betty Crocker-- even got a cake pan for it! A nice shiny metal one, that amazingly enough nothing has stuck to.

The mix itself is fairly easy. A stick of butter, an egg, and some water. The most "work" you have to do is pressing down the crust. I do wish they had given just a little more crust mix, it was a bit tricky to get it to cover the whole pan, but that was my only issue with it. The cookie it was made of was very Oreo-esque, without the filling part, so of course very tasty. The brownie itself was a good chocolate, VERY sweet, you really can not eat too many at once, but that's usually the case with anything with marshmallows. I am glad they did not overpower it with marshmallows, just enough to really enjoy. It baked for about 40 minutes, and then was the hard, awful, terrible part...

Waiting for them to cool.

Mom and I -may- or may not have burned off our taste buds in taking a spoonful as soon as they were pulled out of the oven

It was worth it!
We enjoyed this best still warm (no, even after burning ourselves we still could not wait!) topped with coffee ice cream.

Betty Crocker is also coming out with some more new bar flavors, the one I am excited about is lemon... I am a sucker for lemon bars, and, well, anything lemon flavored in the summer. The chocolate ones will be an occasional treat, and I imagine Ian will love them, but I'm not going to make them every other day or anything.
