The first year our little town had a parade, the entire route was lined with manure. It was cleaned as best as possible, the route was changed, and everyone still marched. I was not there, but its still talked about seven years later.
The celebration has grown since then, more then 300 people are expected this year. Not everyone is gay or bi, a lot of people are there in support. I will be honest, I don't know that a small parade in a hodunk backwater town will make much difference. There will still be the hecklers telling us why God hates us, and I don't think any laws will be turned over. My friends, who have been in love with each other and only each other for nearly nine years, care for each other, respect each other, volunteer to help others, are both productive members of society... they may never be able to marry, adopt a child, if Jay winds up in the hospital, his estranged family will have more right then Chris to see him and make decisions. What makes their love not count, just because they are both male? It does not matter if you are straight, gay, bi, so in love with yourself you can't love anyone else... No one has the right to deny someone else love, and turning a blind eye is just as bad.
I could rant about this for hours, but I do have things to do, so I will leave you all with a laugh... the top ten reasons gays should not marry.
Being gay is not natural. Real Americans ™ always reject unnaturalthings like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
