Recently we were invited to participate in the Uncle Ben's Blog Tour.
Uncle Ben's, well known for their rice products, has been a classic for years. Now, they've come up with a new way to help us get our kids eating healthier by making a white rice with the goodness of whole grains.
I know most of us have one (or more) picky eaters- and anything we can do to make our meals healthier is a good thing.
Yes, we're talking about you, Miss Picky! ;-)
We made an awesome Hawaiian Chicken that we served with the Uncle Ben's Whole Grain White Rice, which pretty much looks and tastes like white rice- delicious. The whole family enjoyed.
One caveat- don't make the rice ahead of time- if you let it sit for 20 minutes in the pot staying hot before you get around to eating, it gets kinda mushy. (Of course, unlike here, most of you probably don't eat in several different shifts due to schedules, either, so that wouldn't be an issue for you.) I will say this- the rice didn't get so gross it was inedible and we have had that happen before so it might be us being nit-picky, but, really, it is best eaten fresh.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Uncle Ben’s and received samples to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
