Spooky Rice Krispies Treats

There is very little you can make that is quicker and easier then Rice Krispies treats*, and they are VERY easy to dress up for any holiday.

All it takes is Kellogg's Rice Krispies, butter, marshmallows and food coloring, oh, and plenty of non-stick spray! Just make up the recipe like usual, divide for colors depending on what your going to make as soon as it is cool enough to handle (When I worked in a cafeteria we would put on three gloves and spray down with Pam so we could work it right away) Gently work in colors and either shape by hand, things like pumpkins and candy corn are easy, or use cookie cutters. If you find it is hardening too fast is helps to work under a space heater. You can also work in candies, things like Reese's pieces and candy corn are good for Halloween. Some people also ice it, but for simple treats I don't see a need for the extra icing.

 Either way, have fun!

Oh, all of our props are wonderful dollar store finds!

*Rice Krispies Treats (we used the original recipe but omitted pressing into a pan and worked in food coloring and formed into the shapes we desired).

Food coloring in desired colors

In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
